ASCCA Overview of Our Organization

ASCCA has offered over 50 years of service to the motoring public.  Our association presently represents all areas of the automotive repair industry.  Members include mechanical, auto body, suppliers, educators and other interested organizations.

ASCCA is a not-for-profit trade association incorporated under California state laws.  The headquarters office is located in Sacramento, California.  Currently there are 35 chapters located throughout the state.

The State Board of Directors consists of fifteen members, with the immediate Past-President acting as an advisor to the Board.

Elections are held in the fall at the ASCCA Annual Meeting.  Voting delegates from the chapters are the electors of the Board of Directors.

State Board committees and task forces are formed to assist our chapters and plan state activities.  The current committees and task forces are:

 1.        Executive Committee

 2.        Bylaws, Policies and Procedures Committee

 3.        Education, Training & Information Committee

 4.        Endorsements Committee

 5.        Government Affairs Committee

 6.        Membership Committee

 7.        Chapter Representatives Committee

 8.        Long Range Strategic Planning Task Force

 9.        Governance Task Force

10.        Mandatory Licensing and Certification Task Force

The Chapter Representatives Committee meets three-four times a year and consists of one chapter member from each of the chapters.  Chapter Representatives are the link between their local chapter and ASCCA Headquarters.

A Board of Directors governs each chapter.  Some chapters choose to hire a paid chapter administrator referred to as Executive Secretary or Chapter Coordinator.

ASCCA currently serves over 1,800 members located in over 360 cities throughout California.
