ASC Insurance Services FAQ

Does ASC Insurance Services charge higher rates to offset association costs?
No we do not. The state of California approves the rates that carriers can charge for certain class codes for worker’ compensation insurance, no one else has the legal authority to do so.
Due to the size of the ASCIS program, ASCCA members participating in the group workers compensation and other insurance programs receive special discounts off of their rates which translate into some of the lowest prices that can be obtained from carriers.
Because ASCCA owns 50% of ASCIS, we receive from ASC Insurance Services 50% of the profits generated from selling insurance to the members. This income is derived directly from the commissions paid by all insurance carriers to their agents. We do not increase the price in any way to increase this income.
Each and every dollar that ASCCA gets from its insurance profits is put right back into the association to use for its members on such programs as legislative and regulatory representation (to fight off such issues as 17200 reform, BAR reform, workers compensation reform, Red Light Green Light Bill, etc.,) member services and benefits, networking opportunities such as team weekend meetings, Legislative Day at the Capitol events and annual meeting, free monthly legal consultation, and many other services that directly benefits the ASCCA member and in many cases impacts the members bottom line.
ASCCA works very hard to keep costs down and provide ASCCA members with some of the best rates you can obtain for your insurance needs so members can enjoy the many benefits of membership while keeping our membership dues down.
