What is a pathway?

  1. Definition of pathway
  2. How does it work?

Measurement of Success:

  1. College graduations with an ASCCA AS degree
  2. Increased certification ASE or state level certification = Increased job skills
  3. Increased wages

How:

  1. Apply through the ASCCA to implement the program.
  2. Apply locally through the college district.
  3. Apply for local and regional strong workforce funding.

Why:

  1. Increased work experience opportunities for students
  2. Design the curriculum to make it easier for students to graduate with a skill set.
  3. Competencies based work and credit by test and skill. Portfolios.
  4. If students have a long-term plan for pay and success they tend to stay in the business sponsor. A student needs a vision of the future.
  5. A large part of our student body wants to be business owners. Placing them in a small business is an advantage.

Saturday, September 8: Cuyamaca College Automotive Program – Room TBD (Dress Code - Business Casual)

8:00 am – 8:05 am          Welcome – Pledge, Opening Comments

8:05 am – 8:10 am          NEW: Induction of new members, and introductions of first-time Team Weekend attendees.

8:15am – 12:30 pm        ASCCA Committee Meetings

8:10 – 9:00         Government Affairs

9:00 – 9:10         Break (transition to next meeting)

9:10 – 10:10       Public Relations

10:10 – 10:20     Break (transition to next meeting)

10:20 – 11:20     Education Training, Information (ETI)

11:20 – 11:30     Break (transition to next meeting)

11:30 – 12:30     Membership / Revenue & Benefits

12:30 pm – 1:30 pm       Lunch

This hotel is 17.8 miles NE of the San Diego International Airport (SAN), which is the closet airport. The hotel does not provide shuttle service.  The estimated taxi fare is $57 (one way) and Bus service is $4.50 (one way)

From San Diego International Airport

Take Terminal Access Road Toward Airport Exit/Terminal Return/Parking. Turn slight right toward i-5/Downtown/Rental Car Return. Turn slight right onto N Harbor Drive. Turn left onto W Grape Street. Merge onto I-5/San Diego Fwy S. Merge onto CA-94 E via Exit 15B toward ML King Jr Fwy. Merge onto CA-125 N via the exit on the left. Merge onto I-8 E. Take the El Cajon Blvd exit, Exit 15. Keep left to take the El Cajon Blvd ramp. Stay straight to go onto I-8 Bus E/El Cajon Blvd. Continue to follow I-8 Bus E. Turn left onto Magnolia Ave. The hotel is on the right.
