Strategic Goal:  Increased Credibility and Influence in Government and Regulatory Affairs

Purpose:  To protect and represent the views and needs of the automotive aftermarket profession and the association by directing the constant review of new and pending legislation and regulation; to provide information and expert opinion on industry related legislation and regulation; to work closely with a contracted association lobbyist.

  • Keep an eye on all the bills and keep the membership informed
  • Continue to build the relationship with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR)
  • Help people having issues with the BAR
  • Participate in the BAR Advisory Group (BAG)
  • Identify possible partners in Sacramento:
    • BAR
    • California Air Resources Board (CARB)
    • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
    • OSHA – possibly have Dave Fisher join this Committee to help with OSHA
    • Small Business Coalition
    • California Small Business Association (CSBA)
